Dear Wilson School Families,
WOW! Another school year is over. It feels like we just started our adventure of the 2014-15 school year. As they say "time flies when you are having fun!" and that was definitely the case with us this year. It started with learning all about each other, to learning what a fireman looks like and the seeing the truck he drives, to celebrating Halloween and the First Thanksgiving, a virtual visit from Maria Dismondy – Spaghetti in a Hot Dog Bun, The Ned Show, Mad Science, performing in the Holiday Show, a fantastic Frosty performance, Stretch the Silly Man, a historical trip back in time, environmental awareness assembly, Mother's Day planting activities, watching and growing our own vegetables, producing our third Wilson School Yearbook, our first annual Wilson School Talent Show and of course the fabulous 5th Grade Send-Off Dinner Dance.
The children have had fun and worked extremely hard all year. We are especially proud of the goals they have reached and accomplishments obtained. A very special thanks to all of the PTO parents for their tireless support this year. Your efforts do not go unrecognized. And to all, your children are very special to us and we thank you for letting us have the opportunity to teach them. We love their funny stories, their eagerness to learn, and willingness to do new exciting things. They are our students, but in many ways they are also our teachers.
As a reminder, school reopens on Wednesday, September 2nd. The first day of school is a 1:05 pm dismissal and therefore, BREAKFAST OR LUNCH WILL NOT BE SERVED. Regular school hours and cafeteria services will resume on Thursday, September 3rd, 2015. Both schedules are as follows:

All students should line up on the playground no earlier than 8:30 am as this is when supervision is available. In case of inclement weather, K-5 students may assemble in the Multi-Purpose Room no earlier at 8:30 am. A.M. Pre-K students may assemble in the lobby located to the left of the stairwell. In August letters will be sent home notifying students of their classroom assignments. Be assured that when class placements are made, they reflect our best judgment of individual and group needs. Your child and every child at Wilson School has received full consideration in determining her/his class placement. Therefore, we cannot disregard this process and reconstitute classes based on parent requests. Your cooperation and support are greatly appreciated.
For those of you making the journey to the Thomas Jefferson Middle School next year, best of luck and have fun! For those returning to Wilson School classes, we cannot wait for the new adventures that lay ahead of us!
Pre-K and Kindergarten Orientations will take place on the first day of school. Information will be mailed home in August along with class assignment letters.
I look forward to a rewarding year!
