Dear Wilson School Families,

WOW! Another school year is over. It feels like we just started our adventure of the 2015-16 school year. As they say "time flies when you are having fun!" and that was definitely the case with us this year. It started with learning all about each other, to learning what a fireman looks like and seeing the truck he drives, to celebrating Halloween and the First Thanksgiving. Next came, the Ned Show, Mad Science, performing in the Holiday Show, and a fantastic Broadway performance of, "A Christmas Carole." In December, our fifth grade students took a historical trip back in time to the Hermitage House. In spring, all students participated in learning activities about the environment and Mother's Day planting activities. Our Pre K grew their own vegetables to share with our community. We ended the year with a successful production of a fourth edition Wilson School Yearbook, our Second Annual Wilson School Talent School, End of the Year Carnival, and of course the fabulous 5th Grade Send-Off Dinner Dance.

The children have had fun and worked extremely hard all year. We are especially proud of the goals they have reached and accomplishments obtained. A very special thanks to all of the PTO parents for their tireless support this year. Your efforts do not go unrecognized. And to all, your children are very special to us and we thank you for letting us have the opportunity to teach them. We love their funny stories, their eagerness to learn, and willingness to do new exciting things. They are our students, but in many ways they are also our teachers.

As a reminder, school reopens on Friday, September 2nd. The first day of school is a 1:05 pm dismissal and therefore, BREAKFAST OR LUNCH WILL NOT BE SERVED. Regular school hours and cafeteria services will resume on Tuesday, September 6th, 2016. Both schedules are as follows:

Be assured that when class placements are made, they reflect our best judgment of individual and group needs. Your child and every child at Wilson School has received full consideration in determining her/his class placement. Therefore, we cannot disregard this process and reconstitute classes based on parent requests. Your cooperation and support are greatly appreciated.

For those of you making the journey to the Thomas Jefferson Middle School next year, best of luck and have fun! For those returning to Wilson School classes, we cannot wait for the new adventures that lay ahead of us!

Pre- K and Kindergarten Orientations will take place on Thursday, September 1, 2016. Additional information will be mailed home in August along with class assignment letters.

I look forward to a rewarding year!

Best Regards,

News and Events

This is just a reminder that the Wilson School parking lot is designated for vehicles belonging to our faculty members. Unfortunately our space is limited and we cannot provide visitor parking. When dropping your child off please remember that students must exit their vehicles in the drop off zone on Liberty Street only. For safety reasons parents are not permitted to park or drop off students in our parking lot or in front of the school's driveway. Often times there are students walking through the lot during and after arrival and dismissal time so the entrance and parking lot need to be free of moving cars while they are walking on school grounds.

Thank you for adhering to our school rules and keep our children safe
